Having been unanimously voted in as this season’s Most Valuable Player in the National Basketball League, Nike are paying homage to King James with a special MVP edition of The Six Witness. The shoe features characteristics such as “triple-stitched lateral stability rand and swoosh come in a polished black look, while the collar, forefoot and heel straps get the Witness treatment in bold black letters.” A special t-shirt was also created on a similar note with some bold typeface on the chest. The shoes and shirt will be available at House of Hoops retailers and Nikestore.com.

First released in 1985, the Air Jordan 1 High Metallic is still sought after today. Now its 2009 and Jordan Brand will release 3 pairs of Air Jordan 1 High Metallics, including two pairs inspired by Sal’s Pizzeria from “Do the Right Thing”, and an unknown Jordan 1 High in White / Black Metallic.
The Do the Right Thing Air Jordan 1 High Metallic Pack will release in July, and will release in white / metallic red, and white / metallic green. On to the white, black metallic Jordan 1, which are an exact match to the Original Samples released back in 1985. In a further look into a recently released collaboration involving COMME des GARCONS, we are presented with a small capsule involving fellow Japanese heavyweight, UNDERCOVER. The two-shirt release focuses on an ice cream theme as illustrated examples of ice cream cones are seen complimented by more subtle designs off to the side. A small print also features UNDERCOVER 4 COMME des GARCONS beneath the SUMMER MADNESS logo. Available now at Anytime.

Visvim BECHER WELD Shirt
A highlight out of the Visvim collection this month features the BECHER WELD shirt which combines a certain technical element to the staple button-up. For the summer months, the short-sleeve form is marked by a welded contrasting circle-shaped pocket which includes a vertical zipper. A nice little added touch comes in the form of an elk-skin pull. In an initiative looking to bring awareness and resolution to global epidemic of AIDS, the Designers Against AIDS project enters its second collaboration with H&M as 1,000 stores spanning three countries all on board. The collection will include a cast of famous stars and celebrities as they each partake in the design of organic cotton t-shirts. The roster of talents include Katy Perry, Roisin Murphy, Pharrell Williams/N.E.R.D., Estelle, Yoko Ono, Dita Von Teese, Cyndi Lauper, Tokio Hotel, Yelle, Robyn, Dangerous Muse and Katharine Hamnett. 25% of all t-shirt sales will be donated to the HIV/AIDS prevention projects of Designers Against AIDS, UNFPA, MTV’s Staying Alive Foundation and YouthAIDS.
With Eminem recently re-entering the Hip-Hop world thanks to an upcoming May 19th album drop titled Relapse, Marvel Comics’ latest real-life to comic book transformation features the notorious Detroit lyricist as he teams-up with the super hero synonymous with heavy artillery, The Punisher. The comic by Fred Van Lente and Salvador Larroca features the synopsis “Who’s killing whom? With Punisher, Slim Shady and Barracuda all armed to the teeth and gunning for each other, expect plenty of bullets, blood and betrayals in PUNISHER/EMINEM: KILL YOU” which can be read in its entirety online through Marvel.
